Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS RUSH?
Rush is a four day-long recruitment process where there is an exchange of information such that potential rushes learn more about Alpha Kappa Psi, while our brothers learn more about the potential candidates!
WILL THERE BE DINNER PROVIDED DURING RUSH?
Yes! We will provide food and drinks for all the rushees during all four days of rush.
IS THERE A SPECIFIC MAJOR REQUIREMENT TO RUSH?
No there is not. All majors are welcome and encouraged!
IS THERE A SPECIFIC YEAR REQUIREMENT TO RUSH?
Not at all! We encourage freshman, sophomores, juniors, and even seniors to rush, as long as you have 2 semesters left until graduation!
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND ALL RUSH NIGHTS IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A BID?
While it is not required to attend all rush nights, we do recommend that prospective rushees attend as many nights as they can. In order to be eligible for a bid, you need to attend at least one rush night and sign up for a personal information survey.
WHAT IS A BID?
A bid is an invitation to become a new member in our fraternity. By coming out to Rush, you will be eligible to receive a bid.
IF I DON’T GET A BID, CAN I RUSH MORE THAN ONCE?
Yes! You can rush as many semesters as you want.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I GET A BID?
Once you get a bid, you can either accept it, reject it, or defer it to the next semester.
